Walk-ins are welcome, but booked patients are seen first, so a walk-in may wait. Call or WhatsApp before you leave home and you will usually get a time the same day. If you are already on the way, message anyway; the staff will tell you how long the wait is. Details are on the book an appointment page.

RV Clinic Madipakkam consults Monday to Friday, 9am to 11am. RV Clinic Thalambur consults Monday to Saturday, 10am to 12 noon and 6.30pm to 9.30pm, and on Sunday evening from 6.30pm to 9pm. The exact timings for each branch are printed at the bottom of every page and on the contact page. The evening session at RV Clinic Thalambur suits people who work in the IT parks along OMR.

About 20 minutes with the doctor. Allow extra time if you are a walk-in, if a scan is needed, or if a minor procedure such as a Pap smear is done the same day. Follow-up visits are usually shorter.

RV Clinic is an outpatient clinic and cannot treat emergencies. Heavy bleeding, severe stomach pain, fainting, a fit, or bleeding or reduced baby movements in pregnancy need a hospital emergency department straight away, whichever is nearest. Go first, then inform the clinic. Symptoms that are not emergencies but should not wait, such as bleeding after menopause, bleeding after intercourse or a lump in the breast, get the earliest available slot: call rather than WhatsApp, and say what is happening.

Whichever is closer; the same doctor consults at both. RV Clinic Madipakkam is in Sadasiva Nagar and serves Velachery, Nanganallur, Adambakkam, Keelkattalai, Pallikaranai and Medavakkam. It sees more gynaec problems, fibroids, menopause, teenage period problems and surgery planning. RV Clinic Thalambur is off OMR near Navalur, close to the IT parks at Siruseri and Sholinganallur, and sees more pregnancy, antenatal and fertility patients.

At Madipakkam, two-wheelers park in front of the building and cars on the side road, and the consulting room is on the ground floor. Yes. Whoever you bring can sit with you while you talk to the doctor. Examinations happen in a separate room, and a lady attender is always present for them. If you would like your companion in the examination room as well, say so.

Old reports, scan reports and films, your current medicines or their strips, and the date your last period started. For a pregnancy visit bring the test result and any earlier scans; for a fertility visit bring your partner's semen analysis if it has been done. Photos on your phone are fine. Yes. Dr. Ragavi Vikram is a woman gynaecologist, MBBS, DNB (OG), and she sees every patient herself at both clinics. There is no other doctor; the person you book with is the person you see. A lady attender is present during examinations. The Madipakkam branch page says more about seeing a lady gynaecologist.

Not always. Many problems are sorted out by talking, a blood test or a scan. If an examination is needed, Dr. Ragavi explains what she will do and why before it starts. It happens in a separate examination room with a lady attender present, and you can ask her to stop at any point. Say if you are unmarried or anxious about an internal examination; there are usually other ways to get the same answer.

Fees are told to you on the phone or on WhatsApp before the visit, so there is no surprise at the desk. Scans, tests and minor procedures have their own charges, and each is explained before it is done. Fees are not published on this website. Ask when you book.

You leave every visit with a written plan: which tests, which medicines, and when to come back. If tests were ordered, send the reports on WhatsApp or bring them to the follow-up visit, whichever comes first. Short questions about the plan can go on WhatsApp between visits.

Yes. Bring the scan and the exact advice you were given. Dr. Ragavi will tell you whether she agrees, what the alternatives are, and what she would do in your place. Women advised a hysterectomy for fibroids or heavy bleeding often come for this, because tablets or a smaller operation are sometimes enough.

Pregnancy check-up scans are done at the clinic. Blood tests are requested at the clinic and done at a laboratory; you bring the report or send it on WhatsApp. If a specialised scan or test is needed elsewhere, you will be told where to go and how to prepare.

No. Sex determination of the foetus is not done at RV Clinic, and no scan report here will state it. It is a punishable offence under the PCPNDT Act, 1994, for the doctor who reveals it and for the person who asks. Please do not put the staff in that position.

Only for some tests. A fasting sugar or a lipid profile needs 8 to 10 hours without food; water is fine. The pregnancy sugar test (OGTT) has its own instructions, given when it is ordered. Thyroid (TSH), HbA1c, haemoglobin and AMH do not need fasting. The patient resources page has the full list.

For an early pregnancy scan done through the abdomen, yes: drink two or three glasses of water an hour before and do not pass urine. A transvaginal scan (through the vagina, used in the first weeks) needs an empty bladder. Later pregnancy scans need no preparation. You will be told which scan is planned when you book, and the pregnancy care page explains each one.

At Unittas Multispeciality Hospital, a licensed hospital. RV Clinic Madipakkam and RV Clinic Thalambur are outpatient clinics; no operation or delivery happens at either address. Only for procedures done at the hospital. Surgery and delivery at Unittas Multispeciality Hospital can be cashless or reimbursed, depending on your policy; the hospital's insurance desk handles the pre-authorisation, so share your policy details as soon as the date is fixed. Consultations, scans and tests at the clinic are outpatient and are not covered by cashless.

Dr. Ragavi herself. She performs normal deliveries, caesarean sections, hysterectomy, myomectomy, cyst removal, ectopic pregnancy surgery, pelvic reconstruction, sterilisation, gynaecological cancer surgery, hysteroscopy and colposcopy at the affiliated hospital, with the hospital's anaesthetist and theatre team. The decision is made at the clinic, after she has explained the operation, the alternatives and the recovery. She then fixes the date with the hospital. Pre-operative blood tests, an ECG and an anaesthetist's check are done a few days before. You are admitted at Unittas Multispeciality Hospital, she operates, and your first review after discharge is back at the clinic. Yes. Dr. Ragavi consults in Tamil, English and Hindi. Explain the problem in whichever language you think in; there is no need to search for the medical word. If anything on the prescription is unclear, ask her to go over it before you leave.

Yes. Photograph each page clearly, or forward the PDF, and add your name and the date of your last visit. Reports are read during clinic hours and answered in order; if something needs urgent action, you will get a call. WhatsApp is for reports and short questions, not for emergencies.

Yes, for short questions about your plan: a medicine that does not suit you, a report that has arrived, a date to confirm. A new problem, or anything that needs an examination, needs a visit. Messages are answered during clinic hours, so for anything urgent, call, and for an emergency go to a hospital.

Yes. Your consultation, reports and messages are seen only by the doctor and the clinic staff who need them. Nothing about you is used on this website; RV Clinic does not publish patient stories, photographs or case details. How the website itself handles data is in the privacy policy.
