About Dr. Ragavi Vikram
Dr. Ragavi Vikram is an obstetrician and gynaecologist who has looked after women through pregnancy, period problems, fertility treatment, surgery and menopause for 17 years. She graduated MBBS from Madurai Medical College in 2004 and completed her DNB in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the Public Health Centre, West Mambalam, Chennai, in 2009.
She spent five years as a consultant at Andhra Mahila Sabha, Adyar, and four years at Chettinad Super Speciality Hospital, Kelambakkam, before starting RV Clinic. She has also worked as a visiting consultant at Apollo Hospitals in Karapakkam and Perungudi, at Rainbow Hospitals and at Unittas Multispeciality Hospital. That mix of a busy charitable hospital, a teaching hospital and corporate hospitals means she has managed both routine and complicated cases, including high-risk deliveries and cancer surgery.
Today she runs two outpatient clinics: a gynaecology clinic in Madipakkam, which serves the settled neighbourhoods of south Chennai, and a gynaecology clinic in Thalambur on OMR, close to the IT parks. She consults at both. Surgeries and deliveries are done by her at Unittas Multispeciality Hospital; see the hospital affiliations of RV Clinic for how that works.

Procedures performed
These are carried out by Dr. Ragavi at Unittas Multispeciality Hospital, not at the clinic. RV Clinic is an outpatient clinic. Consultation before the procedure and follow-up after it happen at the clinic. Read about hysterectomy and laparoscopic gynaecological surgery for what each operation involves.
In her words
“Highly ethical, humane approach, with no compromise in quality health care.”
How she practises
Every patient is seen by Dr. Ragavi herself, not by a junior. She takes the history first and examines only when it is needed, with a lady attender present. A first visit takes about 20 minutes.
She explains what each test is for before it is ordered, and what the result means when it comes back. If a scan or a blood test will not change the treatment, she will say so and skip it. If surgery is one option among several, she lays out the alternatives, including waiting, and lets you choose with your family.
Sex determination of the foetus is not done, and no scan report from RV Clinic will state it. It is a punishable offence under the PCPNDT Act, 1994.
Consulting hours
Booking is better, because booked patients are seen first. Walk-ins are seen after them. To fix a time, book an appointment with Dr. Ragavi Vikram by phone or WhatsApp.
